Civil

The Civil Group is responsible for master land planning and feasability studies for commercial, residential and mixed use subdivisions; design services in support of rehabilitation and construction projects for facilities;  infrastructure design for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, utility design, and platting, zoning, street and alley closures, easements and permitting, including tree surveys.  We provide "in-house" Traffic Impact Analysis, Water Pollution Abatement and Storm Water Prevention Planning Reports (WPAP and SW3P).

Our Land Survey Group operates as a "stand alone" section, but also provides complementary services in support of design and construction. Experience  includes control, topographic, title, right-of-way, boundary, construction,  and Global Positioning System (GPS).

The Administrative Staff is the heart of any company, and at BMB, ours is indeed special.  From the initial cheery hello to a new or returning client, to the finalization of a project, the administrative staff has a hand in each project.  The staff works to meet the internal needs of every employee through intake and processing stage, and other routine tasks including times sheets, payroll, insurance, and reports.  The Project Managers work with the Administrative Staff hand-in-glove on each and every job.  This can include filing and documentation, management of time and expenses, preparation of reports, contract administration, preparation of plans and specifications and invoicing.  The staff takes care of vendors and payment of accounts.  And last, but certainly not least, Administration takes care of the hundreds of other small things which make the office hum.

The seventy plus staff members work in teams, with firm principals directly involved in all projects. We have ten professional engineers, three graduate engineers, five professional land surveyors and three surveyors-in-training, registered in the State of Texas. One of the RPLS is a Licensed State Land Surveyor (LSLS), one of less than one hundred so licensed and currently active in Texas. The Technical staff includes abstractors, a subdivision coordinator, an ADA compliance design specialist, civil design and survey technicians.

BMB has worked with  the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) providing roadway design, survey services and aviation design and now bridge design. We have provided infrastructure design for the City of San Antonio for the  Public Works, Special Projects, Aviation and Parks and Recreation Departments, Bexar County Public Works, CPS-Energy, San Antonio and Bexar Metropolitan Water Systems, Port Authority of San Antonio and municipalities throughout South Texas. Federal projects include Department of Defense assignments at Brooks AFB, Kelly AFB, Lackland AFB, Randolph AFB, Ft. Sam Houston, and Camp Bullis in San Antonio and Laughlin, AFB in Del Rio.  We have done extensive work with the Department of the Interior, National Park Service for the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.  We also work closely with architectural firms, as well as with other engineering firms providing civil and survey services.

The majority of our projects require that the staff work not only with the client but also City, County, and/ or TxDOT Design, Engineering, or Public Works Departments, as well as the various Deeds and Records Departments, and all local utility purveyors. This work requires a thorough knowledge of and ability to conform to the applicable procedural and regulatory requirements for each entity.

BMB fields up to seven survey crews. We routinely provide "rapid response" services.  Survey equipment ranges from three station Leica GPS systems to a full array of survey equipment and trucks.  Crews have extensive experience in boundary, topographic, right-of-way, land acquisition and construction surveying. Our experience also includes abstract work to determine ownership, location of easements, and restrictions that may affect the proposed use.  We are very familiar with GPS, total station and data collection, field note booking techniques, safety requirements and regulations and procedures required for TxDOT projects.

The firm is a woman-owned business, certified by the South Central Texas Regional Certification Agency (Certificate # 201011320/DBE, SBE & WBE), and is an Historically Underutilized Business (HUB).
